Evan will play a vampire! And no, she won't join the Twilight movies.
According to Michael Ausiello (aka the guy who knows everything about tv), she'll join the hit show True Blood, alongside Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer.
She'll play Sophie-Anne, the 500-year-old French vampire and Queen of Louisiana. The character is described as charming, wily, ruthless and wise. Evan is booked for two episodes towards the end of second season and if the show gets renewed for a third season, she'll be back as well.

i think i dropped my baguette

Evan won't join the cast of Sucker Punch as it was reported, due to scheduling conflicts. And apparently, Jena Malone will take over her role.
Amanda Sayfreid also had to drop out of this this due to scheduling conflicts and Emily Browning is now the leading actress of the movie.

I've always thought Jena and Evan look a like and they're both great young actresses. Jena was the first choice to play Kimberly in "Pretty Persuasion", but Evan got the part. And with that brunette and short hair (it was wig!), Evan looked even more like her!

The premiere of "Whatever Works" is in a few days... so let's just wait for the new pics!

three new projects!

This photoshoot was taken during the Venice Film Festibal last year. She was there to promote The Wrestler and she wore this lovely Lanvin black-white stripes dress. Here are info about Evan's new projects:

- Flora Plum: Directed by Jodie Foster and Evan is set to play the title-character. A penniless girl, Flora, in the 1930's is taken in by a circus freak, and even as he falls in love with her, she begins to launch a career in the circus herself.

- Sucker Punch: Zack Snyder will be directing this movie. Amanda Seyfried, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornsih, Emma Stone and Evan Rachel Wood are rumoured to join this production. Set in the 1950s, the movie follows a girl who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.

Amanda would play Babydoll, the institutionalized girl; Vanessa a character named Blondie; Abbie would play Sweet Pea; Emma would play Amber and Evan Rachel would play Rocket. Sounds pretty interesting! And for those who don't remember, Vanessa Hudgens and Evan already worked together in Thirteen (she was Tracy's best friend, before everything).

- American Patoral: A man, in postwar America, watches his seemingly perfect life fall apart as his daughter's new political affiliation threatens to destroy their family. Nothing is confirmed yet, but besides Evan, Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany are also rumoured to star in this movie, which will be directed by Phillip Noyce.

Evan will return to her theatrical roots in her hometown Raleigh, NC, at Theatre In The Park (TIP), for a special Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, starring as Juliet. The play will be directed by her brother, Ira David Wood IV. She'll be joined by her father, Ira David Wood III, who is also an executive and artistic director of TIP. He has said:

"Evan's first major role at Theatre In The Park was as Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker. [...] Watching her work, there was no doubt in my mind that she was going to have an amazing career as an actress. We're all deeply grateful that she and her brother came to us with this project. It's always so important to come home and to give something back to the place and people who nurtured and helped guide you when you were just starting out. It's going to be a wonderful production and I'm grateful to have been included."

The production is scheduled for May 2009, and Hollywood and Broadway celebrities are expected to attend.
