It's been quite a while since the last time I posted something about "Whatever Works". So there you go, a still of Melodie and her husband Boris Yellnikoff (Larry David). And here's something quite interesting I found:

Woody Allen wrote the script for this movie in the 70s! Back then, he wrote the role of Boris with actor Zero Mostel in mind, but after his death 1977, Woody put the screenplay aside. And in 2008, he decided it would be his next film.

Release dates:
Italy 18 September / Belgium 30 September / Spain 2 October / Australia 15 October / Finland 23 October / Brazil 6 November / Estonia 6 November / Netherlands 12 November / Iceland 27 November / Germany 3 December / Russia 31 December

Evan with Woody Allen, Henry Cavill and Larry David while they were filming "Whatever Works" last year. Woody said it was his wife, Soon-Yi Previn, who told him about Evan:

“I had not seen anything Evan was in; my wife told me about her. Once I started looking at clips of her, she looked like a wonderful actress and looked very good for the part. It was an easy choice—she could be trusted with anything. [...] She’s an actress of limitless capabilities.”

late late show with craig ferguson on july 7th.

Our lovely Evan Rachel was at the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson yesterday. Among other things, they talked about her two names, Whatever Works, his snake cup, marriage, reverse psychology... I honestly think Craig is the funniest and this interview is truly one of the coolest! Evan was having a good time, laughing and they were making jokes all the time.

She had been on the show in 2004* to promote Thirteen and she remembered:
"I wasn't even 18. And you told me I couldn't rob churches until I was 21, and I'm 21 now! So good news, yeah, I robbed my first church. Just for you, man!"

whatever works paris premiere

Woody and Evan in Paris for the premiere of Whatever Works. She has said he offered her the role of Melodie and she didn't had to audition for the part:

"He wrote me a letter, saying he thought I would be good for the role and that he was going to send me the script. He was very funny. He said if I didn't like it, we would find something else to do together, and of course I thought, 'Are you crazy?! Of course I'm going to like it.' It was an honor. It was intimidating at first. Because I didn't audition and I'd never met him, so I didn't want to let him down. He's very sweet, very warm—not as neurotic as some people might think."

ww photocall

On a interview, she said she doesn't think a relationship with a much older man works:
"I don’t think it works. I think it’s a bad idea. I think as long as you learn from it - good or bad experience - it’s an experience, and you should take something away from it."

And many celeb sites posted this saying she regrets the relationship with Manson. I think what Evan said was taken out of context. She never mentioned Manson nor that dating him was a bad idea and she had regrets of it. She said the experience of dating a much older man (he was 19 years older than her) didn't work for her. But she had to try, right? And she did learn something from it...

And about her new boyfriend Shane, this is what she said:
"Yeah, we played (brother and sister), but at least we're not related in real life! Good God! I thought it would be creepy for him, but it's not."

Super cute Evan Rachel at the photocall for "Whatever Works" on June 8th:

whatever works ny premiere!

The cool foursome: Woody Allen, Patricia Clarkson and Larry David yesterday at the premiere of Whatever Works in New York. And no sign of that hottie named Henry Cavill at this premiere...

The movie is getting a lot of mixed reviews, some say it's a great and funny movie, others say it's too pretentious and only Woody fans are going to like it.

Here are some release dates according to IMDb:
USA 19 June (limited) / France 1 July / Denmark 10 July / Norway 28 August / Belgium 30 September / Netherlands 12 November / Brazil 13 November

whatever works l.a. premiere (jun 8th)

Yesterday was the LA premiere of "Whatever Works". Shane West went with her and when she was asked about the relationship she simply answered:

“I think you can put two and two together. I won’t confirm or deny it but I don’t think I have to. I have a celebrity crush on Shane West, of course! It was a great party!”

Woody Allen and Henry Cavill didn't seem to be at the premiere... well, at least I haven't seen any picture of the two with the rest of the cast. Enjoe the pics:

whatever works trailer!

The trailer of Whatever Works has FINALLY been released and it looks damn funny. I'm already amazed by Evan's accent, it doens't even sound like her and that great :)

Enjoy!

"This is not the feel good movie of the year. So if you want those idiots who make you feel good, go get yourself a foot massage!"

must see it!

Whatever Works is on the NY Post's 25 Must-see Summer Movies list.

Woody Allen has a habit of snagging his supporting sisters Academy Awards, so I'm predicting (hoping) that Evan Rachel Wood's portrayal of a bubbly Southerner will make up for her horrifying Oscar snub in "Thirteen." June 19
